MOHAMED CHAIRI – VIOLIN AND VOCALS
Mohamed Chairi became acquainted with Andalusian traditions early in his youth. During a summer holiday in Morocco he attended concerts by grand masters, wide-eyed in admiration at the musical riches of the conservatory in Tetuan. Back home, it became his dream to learn to play Andalusian music in Amsterdam. His goal was to bring a contemporary Andalusian repertoire to a Dutch public, and he began to compose new music in the Andalusian style.
